Guide to media makeover
Suggestions and top influences to follow

Social media lens:
Open a social media app such as Instagram or Facebook. Choose a public profile and take note of what the account posts, what you like, and how it makes you feel.
For example: The Body Positive is a non-profit organisation that encourages people to love their bodies. I follow them because their posts help me think about my relationship with my body in a different way. I feel inspired to challenge the negative thoughts I have about myself.
Alternative media lens:
Look at who you follow on social media. Are these groups, profiles, and people diverse? Are there ways to diversify
your feed? How can you vary the accounts you follow to reflect the wonderful diversity of the world? Consider following the accounts listed below, under ‘Top influencers to follow focused on body positivity and diversity.’ Often, mainstream body positivity campaigns highlight privileged bodies and identities (white, cisgender, thin, young, and able-bodied people). This list shares accounts that intentionally highlight marginalised identities and bring them to the public's attention.
